Have students go to the charts they did for Text 1 and then for Text 2. No more than 5 per text; if more than 5, split into multiple groups.
Do 5 minutes with text one and then have students share with class. Then move to text two, do 5 minutes, and then share with class.
Anchor charts "I Believe.." With your last group, discuss some of your ideas for your own "I Believe" essays. Write down an idea for each person on the anchor chart. You don't have to share your name. Post around room.
Think about your beliefs. What drives you? What personal experience do you have that shaped this belief? You should brainstorm on this. Next week, we will write this and use it for our first blog posts!
